I think the steps taken there was a little interesting. thread subject search "listen."

I don't know why it was deleted. Personnally I see nothing wrong with that I find it actually cute.  Somebody did it recently but for other reasons (promote his web design services) and of course in that particular case it was not allowed. But in this case I don't know why or who deleted it.

Oi? No need to be euphemistic. What are we talking about here?

Well, it's beyond my control. Upon further investigation on my part The link I provided, might have been inapropriate, as I was thinking the whole album was Public domain. I like Loudon for his other Songs, and didn't know he was Bashing Bush, till I found another link. I am a (R) so even though I am not happy with certain issues, I do not promote bashing someone. I tried to be witty and also follow the rules, and got Mod'ed. I'll take my lumps and forget it, but the thread shouldn't have been Vanished, that is a part of our History here.

Oh! well..

crae I pulled up a thread from 1092 days ago, a "I'm Listening to" Thread from 082701
I added to it, because I couldn't think of Jafo's thread for music and that is whatcame up on seach of "listen" it had a small post count so I figured that instead of wading through Jafo's thread I added to that one. Some folks music taste have changed and some folks might not want to wade through, several hundreds of posts to contribute to that thread. I also thought it was a nice slice of the past that folks could wade through.

I went and got a cup of joe, came back refreshed, and the dang Post Vanished thread and all. So I went and did search again "listen." There was the thread with cute Icon "H".
I said to myself WTF is that icon? I click on the thread and computer chugs for a bit.
Then I get message thread cannot found or is gone or something like that. So I go back to "H" icon and right click on it, and look at it's properties, and it is hidden.gif, so I surmise that thread was Hidden, from Users. Now there are a few reason as to why...
1.Mod doesn't like Loudon Wainwright
2.I was linking to page with lyrics to song and Downloadable version of song
which I believed was Public Domain by Author
3.Mod thought since Jafo post was already going that this one wasn't needed
I had posted similar thread on my own a couple of weeks ago and had it deleted on grounds a prior thread existed, which is why I looked the one in question up.
4. I do not know.

Hmm, so to solve this riddle, step one would be to find out who removed the thread and step two would be to get this person to explain the reasons for it.

Yup, on the Money crae.
I was just hoping for an email, or something, thanks for the interest and help.

Of course the correct step would be for you to e-mail an admin, not the other way round...

Okidoke, and where is that information accessed?
I understand that there are Several Admins'/Mods. I do not know all of them.
I understand being able to query, the User Profile when their names are seen as a poster of comments, but how do I know who is on Duty? How do I know whichMod effected my post?
Does New Wincustomize 2K5 address this issue? Mod on Duty, whom to Contact and whatnot?
Like a who is active pager, who's online Pinger?

This is why I posted a Generalized Query to the Admin on Duty, in hopes that the one responsible would contact me privately. Whomever it was was quick to whack my post, a response should be as easy, one would like to think.

Once again thank you for your interest and help in resolving this issue.

Wasn't me or Koasati it seems. I guess you kinda did the right thing since you don't know who deleted the post, and nor do I.

A cool thing would be a special board where you could post something only for admin eyes, and where you could only see your own posts along with admin replies... if that makes sense.

Yeah it would be like a single blind, or two way mirror. I track you on that my friend.
Oh, well I am sure whomever it was will let me know eventually. Thanks

It wasn't me either. I never saw it. I'm sure the answer will surface as the sun makes its way around our planet.

Of course there is always stardock chat.

OK, had a discussion with the admin who did it, and we decided that he probably did the right thing. We can't just let people start reviving old threads. There is already little space for legitimate posts, as they often get pushed off screen by sometimes already a lot of double posts, so maybe it's not a good idea to revive old threads unless there is a really good reason.  It probably doesn't matter if it's just one old thread once in a while, but we can't let this become a habbit.

So, that's our new position regarding this.
